Athenians Shine at Los Gatos

Say what you will about needing a huge track and field team to be successful as Athenian Athletics proved that theory to be false with just five athletes competing, they came away the talk of the meet.

Arthi Benjaram, Hailey Lukas, Hailey Mann, Nick Mann and Richard Yang all came away with first place finishes in every event they competed in during the fully automatic timed meet on February 23, 2008 at Los Gatos High School.

Lukas (12), competed in the open competition in both the 100m and 400m and won both races against girls that were in high school and open athletes. She ran a 13.69 in the 100m and 63.37 in the 400m.

Hailey Mann (10), competed in the elementary division and placed first in the 200m with a time of 33.89 as well as first in the 400m with a time of 75.16. Her brother Nick (8), took first in the 200m with a tiem of 36.49 in his age division.

Arthi Benjaram (12) ran the middle school division and took first in the 100m with a time of 14.01 and first in the 200m with a time of 28.79.

Richard Yang (10), who was our loan high jumper, took first in the elementary division with a jump of 3’8’’.
