106 Degrees: No Problem for Hyams

As temperatures soared over 100 degrees Friday afternoon during the opening day of the USATF Pacific Association Championships Samuel Hyams (17) seemed unaffected as he blazed into a 1st place finish with a time of 16:24.78 in the Young Men’s 5,000m race.

Lukas and Mann Receive Golden Tickets to AAU National Meet in Michigan

For Haley Lukas and Hailey Mann, the journey towards competitive running has just begun as both ladies qualified for the AAU National Meet in Ypsilanti, MI. Both girls participate in competitive soccer with the Pleasanton Rage as Lukas advanced in the 400-m while Mann advanced in the 800-m races at the meet held in Tulare, CA over the weekend.

Hyams Wins Fathers Day 5k Spirit Run

For the third straight year, Athenian Athletics has had quite a day at the Pleasanton Rotary Spirit Run as Samuel Hyams continued the tradition and won the event with a first place finish time of 15:49 and became the first athlete to break 16 minutes in the event.

Roberts Sweeps Sprints at Minn. Open

Starr Roberts won both the 100-m dash and the 200-m dash at the Minnesota Open at Hamline University on Sunday. For Roberts, this was his first sweep in the sprints since the Payton Jordan Invitational.

Don Canham: Club Beginnings

Athenian Athletics was original created as an extension of the Ann Arbor Track Club at the wish of Don Canham. Canham's 1966 creation of an Olympic Development club was turning into a recreational running club. Athenian Athletics is based off Canhams original vision of Olympic Development training and getting as many elite athletes training together as possible.
